The Hot Form Quench (HFQ®) process from Impression Technologies Limited (ITL) is a proven method for hot viscoplastic forming of ultra-high strength aluminium (UHSAL) alloys including 2x, 6x and 7x series, with parts in serial production for automotive applications since 2016.
In addition HFQ application programmes are well underway to apply the technology to aerospace structures. HFQ provides many benefits to OEMs including reduction in weight, part integration, elimination of spring-back issues and attendance cost savings versus conventional forming methods.
This first of three webinars will explain how HFQ Technology can reduce both cost and eliminate quality problems in the manufacture of aluminium components and also ensure that aluminium can retain a strong value proposition versus composites. It will also provide several case studies and detail on how the HFQ aerospace supply chain will evolve.
